You’ll start from the little pier in Moltrasio, following the western coast of the lake towards Bellagio you can admire several beatiful villas. One of these is Villa Oleandra in Laglio, George Clooney‘s villa.
Left Laglio you’ll reach the pictoresque village of Brienno. Proceeding on the coast you’ll pass Argegno and in few minutes reach the little Island Comacina.
After the island, your next spot to reach is few minutes far: Villa Balbianello. It is one of the most beatiful villas of whole Lake Como. Here many movies were shot, like Star Wars Episode 2 and 007 Casino Royale. After the villa the lake gets larger and you’ll see a gulf to your left. This area is very dangerous as there are rocks and shallow water zones. A pillar signs the low depth area.
North respect to Villa Balbianello, you can reach Tremezzo and sightseeing the gardens of Villa Carlotta. But for sure the main attraction of this area is the town that you’ll see on the opposite side of the lake: Bellagio, its villas and its charming landscape. Unfortunately it is not possible to stop with a boat in Bellagio.
Beyond Bellagio on the east coast of the lake rises the beautiful town of Varenna.
It is now time to come back…
You’ll cross the lake again from Varenna to Bellagio and then proceed towards Como, but this time on the eastern coast. You’ll pass in front of nice villages as Nesso (and its famous waterfall), Careno and Faggeto Lario. Passed Faggeto you’ll be in front of a gem of the lake, the wonderful Villa Pliniana.
You’ll still have time to see Torno, with its pictoresque square and pier, then and crossing the lake, come back to Moltrasio.
